Thibault Liger-Belair’s Moulin–Vent Vieilles Vignes comes from 60- to 80-year-old vines. It has a very subtle and complex bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry and mineral scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple black fruit on the entry, but the back end exerts quite a grip.

  Dark, sturdy crimson. Mmm! Lovely, full-throttle, ripe, terroir-driven Gamay on the nose here makes me wish I’d tasted more of his wines at Lea & Sandeman yesterday. Throbs with interest and confidence. Really exciting richness with almost seaweed freshness. This deserves a higher price.
