This rich, textured blend of Grenache Blanc (50%) and Pedro Ximenez (50 %) is only the second white wine to grace the Terroir al Limit family. The clay soils of El Molar, an ancient mining village at the southern end of Priorat, offer an ideal haven for 25-year old Pedro Ximenez (PX) vines that yield fruit of unparalleled finesse from these north-facing vineyards. The power of the skin-contact PX is softened with the cool floral beauty of Muscat dAlexandria from the llicorella slate hills of nearby Porrera.
PRESS: 93+ POINTS, WINE ADVOCATE
The very recently bottled 2021 Terra de Cuques Blanc was produced with 90% Pedro Ximnez and 10% Muscat with a moderate 13% alcohol, the minimum required by the appellation. It’s serious, with good freshness, a little reductive at first but then more expressive with abundant notes of pollen and a honeyed touch, with a little skin contact that gives it character and some notes of quince and fine tannins. There’s finesse and elegance and it’s very clean. They have food in mind when they do the wines, so there is a constant search for freshness.
