Champagne nerds might recognise this lieu-dit as one of the sources of Pascal Agraparts renowned Avizoise cuve. Suenens vines lie just across the border in the Cramant section of this vineyard, at the top of a small hill. Originally planted in 1952, with further plantings in 1978 and 1984, the average age of Suenens vines is now 38 years, and they contain a large portion of massale selection vines.
Les Robarts is a single vineyard release from the Grand Cru of Cramant, comprised of 40+ year-old Chardonnay from the clay and limestone soils of the Lieu-Dit of the same name situated astride Cramant and Avize. Typically a chiseled, yet broad and very expressive wine. Grapes go through pneumatic press, and see no additions of enzymes or chaptalisation. Initial fermentation and ageing is in 2000L wooden vat for 9 months on the lees. Ageing in bottle is for 60 months, and disgorgement was in June of 2023, with 3g/l dosage.
