This is serious. The most gorgeous drop, with prodigious length and some serious va-va-voom. Toasted hazelnuts and baked grains, a hint of spearmint and smoky, pithy palate, with a flavour that carries on and on. Vines here are 60-90 years old, with a high ratio of clay-marl to limestone. Astonishingly classy, with a long life ahead. 2020 is coming into its own and showing absolutely fabulously.

Domaine Henri et Gilles Buisson is a sensational producer. They are most definitely a feather in our cap. We dont come across producers like this often, that aren’t already being imported to the UK. In fact, it would be just a few like this in a lifetime, such is the quality of terroir they have, but more importantly what theyre doing with it. The Sous La Velle is one of 4 lieu-dits made by the Buisson brothers, each as good as the last.
