A true pioneers Pinot Gris, crafted with precision, depth, and the unmistakable character of our vineyard. Aged to perfection, it presents a radiant, mouth-filling texture that springs from perfectly ripe, hand-picked fruit, enriched by skin maceration that imparts a delicate pink blush. Every sip is layered and expressive, with a lively freshness that leads to a graceful, honeyed finish, lasting long after the last drop.

This final vintage marks the end of an era. As Marlboroughs first to plant Pinot Gris, we now bid farewell, choosing to topgraft in pursuit of greater purpose amidst a sea of uninspired, off-dry imitations.

Vintage 2020

2020 showed of with another perfect growing season including a long Indian summer to hand-pick healthy and intensely flavourful berries for our Viognier to weave its magic spell.

Hans’ Comments

Hand-pickedand destemmed, the grapes underwent extended skin maceration, giving the wine its beautiful pinkish hue. Fermented naturally with wild yeast, leaving no residual sugar. Half the wine aged for 18 months in French oak puncheons with lees stirring for silkiness and depth, while the other half remained in tank under the same careful treatment. Unfined and lightly filtered, preserving the purity of this dry Pinot Gris.

Tasting Notes
