Panela is a medium dark brown partially refined cane sugar from either Mexico or Columbia. It will contribute flavors of caramel, rum and vanilla. The vanilla flavors will dissipate with aging.
Usage: Recommended use is 1/2 to 1 pound for 5 gallons, some recipes call for up to 2 pounds.
