This 12-year-old expression from Old Pulteney released in mid-2018 was entirely aged in bourbon casks, resulting in a heavy influence of bourbon sweetness – which helps to balance the characteristic coastal salinity of the whisky. Picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.

Appearance: Burnished gold in colour.

Nose: Aromas of chamomile, honey, citrus zest and fresh mint

Palate: Honeyed palate that is sweet and floral, then develops further into flavours of toasted grain, seaweed, smoke and white pepper.

Finish: Toffee, brine and lemon. Persistent finish with notes of the seaside.
