Mortlach The Katanas Edge Special Release 2023 is a single malt with stunning impact. Finished in a combination of old Kanosuke Japanese whiskey barrels and old Pinot Noir barrels, this whisky is vigorous, vibrant and vital. The subtle influence of the finely balanced finishing barrels helps show a side of Mortlach never before encountered: deeply fruity and refreshing.

This single malt was bottled at cask strength and released as part of Diageos 2023 Special Releases. It is inspired by the flavours of Japan and was finished in a combination of ex-Kanosuke Japanese whisky and ex-Pinot Noir casks. This has resulted in notes of blackberry, toasted cinnamon and hints of porcini mushroom.
