This IGT Toscana (Super-Tuscan if you prefer) is always one of the gems of Tuscany, and a wine whose production is so limited that it’s not often seen. Beautiful aromas of black fruit, spice, leather and earth give way to an incredibly balanced palate, with refreshing acidity, fine and well-integrated tannin and an amazingly long finish. This is exceptional, and not to be missed.

  The 2013 Gagliole Rosso is a dark, sumptuous beauty. Even with all of its intensity, the 2013 has a kick of acidity that keeps the flavors bright. Blackberry jam, spices, herbs, licorice and menthol are all fused together. This is an especially ripe, extracted style. The 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is felt in the wine’s darker fruit profile and tannins. The 2013 is a beautiful, unctuous wine endowed with real depth and power.
