  The 2018 Balisca is a tiny production of 1,500 bottles, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Panzano, one of the spots in Chianti Classico where Cabernet works well. Blackberry, sage, menthol and liquorice abound. This is a wine of tremendous character and distinction. The 2018 is vinified then aged in barrel for 24 months. I am so curious to see how this ages. The purity of the fruit is remarkable but the aromatics need time to develop.
