Fromgranitic soils on the slopes of Saint Joseph, its black/blue color is followed by killer aromas and flavors of crme de cassis, vanilla bean, espresso roast and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and elegant, with building tannin, it needs 5-6 years of cellaring and will keep for a decade (or more) after that.

  Dark, bright-hued ruby. Smoke-tinged cherry and blackberry scents, along with hints of smoky bacon, vanilla and pungent flowers. Nicely concentrated and supple on the palate, offering juicy black and blue fruit flavors that become sweeter and more lively with air. Closes long and smooth, showing very good clarity and thrust to its spicy, gently tannic finish.
