Tasting Notes: The nose is bursting with violets, leather, dark fruits, cherry, raspberry and softer notes of white pepper, smoked meat, red licorice, and dried herbs. The palate is bold with dark fruit, dark chocolate, peppery spice, black raspberry and a touch of meatiness. Fine tannins and great structure with tremendous length.

Winemaker’s Notes: The 2020 vintage was a powerhouse year with near perfect ripeness, balance and intensity. The red wines from this vintage are bold and concentrated with excellent ageing potential. The Broken Press Syrah is aptly named because in 2004 when our little basket press broke with some juicy Viognier skins in it, we decided to try co-fermenting them with our Syrah. That happy accident turned out so well that the tradition continues in making this elegant but powerful wine, year after year.
