TheBelondrade y Lurton 2023 is the flagship wine of Bodega Belondrade, widely considered Spains premier Verdejo. Crafted from Verdejo grapes grown on its estate vineyards and now aged for cellaring, it frames a bold new benchmark for white wines from Rueda.

This is packed with ripe fruits, think pear and peach and balanced with hints of fennel and hay. Complex and with a touch of oak. Currently drinking well, this is refreshing with a good acidity, creamy and long, and highly enjoyable. It will keep for 6 to 8 years.

Founded in 1994 by French winemaker Didier Belondrade, Bodega Belondrade brought a Burgundian approach to the Castilla y Len plateau. It emphasized varietal expression and barrel-aged white winesomething nearly unheard of locally before. Located at approximately 750m elevation, the estate consists of roughly 40ha divided into 23 distinct parcels on calcareous clay and pebble soils, farmed according to certified organic standards.
