Francoise isn’t a fan of the ultra-oxy styles of Savagnin, so theirs is topped up. It’s top. Natur is the old name for Savagnin in these parts, most parts probably, seeing as this is where it’s from and all. Tart and fresh up front, before the flood of yellow orchard fruit and peppery spice comes through. The acid line and phenolic grip on show with these Ratte whites is truly something. Mouth watering gear.

In the picturesque town of Arbois, Domaine Ratte is a labour of love for Michel-Henri and Franoise Ratte. With vineyards in Franoise’s family for generations, they finally broke free from contract farming in 2015 to produce their own wines from some of the best terroirs in Arbois.
