In 2008 Dominique Lucas decided to take over some plots of vines in Ballaison, near Thonon-les-Bains, in the Haute-Savoie department. The 12-hectare estate is managed biodynamically on an exceptional terroir composed of molasse on the upper part of the plots and clay on the lower part; culminating between 420 and 520 meters above sea level, facing due west. These conditions allow wines of great aromatic intensity and unique finesse. The Face au Levant is 100% Aligote from old vines.
