For more than 500 years the estate has been in the family and closely connected with wine-growing. Since 1995 Marcus Haag, the grandson of Willi Haag, has been in charge. The estate cultivates 6.5 hectares of steep slate soil vineyards perfectly suited for the cultivation of the Riesling grape. The steep slope opposite the small town Brauneberg is called ‘Juffer’. Within the Juffer the very best vineyards are situated aroud the sundial (german: Sonnenuhr) and are therefore named Juffer Sonnenuhr. The Juffer Sonnenuhr is one of the top German locations for winegrowing – Riesling cultivation is mandatory here.
