Von Hvel cultivates a total of 21.5 hectares of vineyards, including some very steep sites. The most important sites include the world-famous Scharzhofberger, the Oberemmeler Htte, which is the sole property of the winery, and the outstanding monopoly site “Hrecker”, a “prime piece” in the Kanzemer Altenberg. Known for its slate-rich soils, Oberemmeler Htte is an Einzellage known for producing refined wines with exceptional minerality, elegance, and longevity. Gentle treatment of the healthy and valuable grapes guarantees wines that are characterized by excellent quality and longevity.
