This wine has a special story, and to understand it, read here.
In August 2022, a hailstorm hit some of Tenuta Nardone’s best vineyards. Until then, it seemed like a fantastic year, but those 15 minutes of hail destroyed a good part of the harvest. Instead of despairing, Pupo decided to roll up his sleeves and collect all that was good and make a wine from it. This wine is at the same time a story of courage, an oenological challenge, and it reminds us that those who work with nature deserve respect simply because they are always teetering on a thin line.
The result? It is one of the most surprising things I have drunk this year. A straightforward and sincere table wine, with surprising fruit on the nose, oranges, lemons and flowers, herbs and Mediterranean scrub, with a joyful freshness that perhaps, not even if it had been sought after, could have been recreated.
