2024 -Dr. Ernst Loosen purchased the 240yr old J.L. Wolf estate in 1996 in the Pfalz region in Germany. He wanted to preserve the old estate while modernizing the winemaking. He put in a dynamic duo, Sumi Gebauer and Patrick Moellendor, to run and overhaul the vineyards and begin conversion to all organically grown grapes. Villa Wolf was fully certified organic in 2019.

The Pfalz region is a very warm and sunny region, often called the Tuscany of Germany.”. All the Pinot varieties do well here. The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Ros is a true ros, made with a brief maceration before pressing to extract color. It is light and refreshing, with deliciously bright berry and fruit flavors and a clean, zippy finish.
