The name of the single vineyard Valdegies come from the valley of Gies, just outside of the village of Laguardia, this wine has incredible elegance and freshness – two terms that aren’t always attached to Rioja. The sun leaves the vineyard by mid-day, so it’s quite a cool site, giving the lifted aromas that you will find in this wine. Firm, but fine tannins brace the wine, and thereis exceptional wood and alcohol integration.

  This has a very rich and complex nose with a swathe of rich, dark summer berries and plums, as well as blueberries. So much fruit here. The palate has a smooth, rich and very fleshy core of ripe dark cherries and raspberries. This is so fleshy and so pure. The tannins are like velvet. Holds super long and full, but with elegance. Drink or hold.
