From the village of Rasteau (which gained appellation status in 2010) in the Southern Rhone, this wine is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Like Beaurenard’s Chateauneuf-du-Papes, it is 100% hand harvested, with low yields (30 hl/ha) and 100% certified organic and biodynamic farming. It has great concentration, structure and balance, showing typical earth and garrigue notes with dark fruit. This is drinking very well now, and will continue to improve for the next few years.
90-92 POINTS, JEB DUNNUCK
There are two Rasteau from this reference point Chteauneuf du Pape producer. Starting with the 2019 Rasteau, it has plenty of chocolatey black raspberry and cherry fruits as well as loads of minerality, medium body, a ripe yet focused frame, and a great finish. This is classic, powerful Rasteau thats going to benefit from 1-3 years of bottle age and evolve for a decade. Its beautifully done.
