This is the entry-level wine from Giuseppe Russo, but it is in no way a ‘basic’ wine. A blend of his three single vineyards (Feudo, Feudo di Mezzo, San Lorenzo), this is an extremely elegant and complex wine, made from Nerello Mascalese (with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio as is the tradition). Very accessible with lots of ripe red-cherry and berry character. Hints of cider apple to add freshness. Medium-bodied with a tense fruit and tannin balance that pushes the wine forward. Finishes long and well. Drink or hold a while.
