Gagliole’sPecchia is grown in theirvineyards in Panzano in Chianti, planted at an elevation of 500 metres on the northwest ridge of the famed sub-region of Conca dOro. Pecchia is a single-varietal Sangiovese made only in the finest growing years, with an average production ofroughly 2000 bottles. This is an extremely rare and excellent wine, and a fantastic wine to blind taste with the great IGT Toscana wines of the world.
97 POINTS, VINOUS
The 2016 Pecchia is one of the best wines I have ever tasted from Gagliole, maybe the best. It possesses tremendous intensity in its aromatics and flavors, yet also remains incredibly refined. Black cherry, plum, leather, licorice and spice all build effortlessly. The 2016 spent 18 months in small French oak followed by a few months in stainless steel.
