Good bright red. Musky, perfumed, high-pitched aromas of coffee, rose petal and burnt orange. Dense but light on its feet, with a piquant blood orange character giving clarity to this seamless, silky midweight. Finishes with wonderfully fine-grained tannins and lingering scents of flowers and spices.

  This comes from 70-year-old vines near the intersection of Grand Echzeaux and Clos Vougeot. It is impressively ripe for a 2021, and the tannins are smooth though muscular. Overflowing with North African spices, chocolatey oak, damp forest floor and sweet black fruits, this needs time.
