With this Pinot, Anthill Farms looks to create a food-friendly, nuanced wine that represents the unique character of the Anderson Valley. Bright andapproachable with light herbacious notes and earthiness, this is a benchmark example of the balance that young California winemakers are striving for, and achieving. Somewhat remote from most of Northern Californias wine-growing districts, this valley shelters a surprisingly harmonious blend of the wild and the civilized: in one vista, one can see sheep ranches, redwood groves, apple orchards, and impenetrable oak scrub.
93 POINTS, WINE ADVOCATE
The 2018 Pinot Noir Peters Vineyard, pale to medium ruby-purple in the glass, is an incredibly elegant wine. The nose begins with delicate dried roses, orange peel, cinnamon, aniseed, rhubarb and red berry aromas supported by an underlying sense of amaro-like spiciness. The light to medium-bodied palate is delicately styled and gently perfumed with a silky texture and fresh acidity to lift the ethereal finish.
