As fresh as this wine is, there is a sublime earthy note of autumn leaves and petrichor. To me, Mondeuse is the feminine version of Syrah. The palate is juicy and upfront with fine tannins and generous acidity. The expansive layers of this wine evolve the longer the bottle is open.

  The 2018 Mondeuse (Santa Maria Valley) is deep, inky and super-expressive, with tons of aromatic lift from the 100% whole clusters. Sage, mint, lavender, blueberry and sweet spice all meld together in a gracious, ethereal red that hits all the right notes. This is such a delicious bottle of wine.
