Pat Craddock grew his own Chinook and East Kent Goldings hops to brew this recipe for an Imperial Stout. Pat notes that any Phish fans out there will know where the inspiration for the name of the beer comes from! Split Open and Melt Imperial Stout A big bold Imperial Stout. The sweet chocolaty backbone is balanced nicely with the bitterness of the hops. Dry yeast is optional, but the original recipe calls for Wyeast or White Labs.
Yield: 5 Gallons Original Gravity: 1.096 Final Gravity: 1.027 Color / SRM: Black Alcohol by Volume: 9.80% IBU (anticipated, alpha acids can fluctuate) : 86
