the noise of a coastal town in the early parts of fall
Their 2021 Qui dort dne Aligot is an absolutely stunning wine, reflecting the freshness and finesse of the Aligot grape variety. Its pale yellow colour, with golden highlights, is crystalline and bright, promising a beautiful clarity. On the nose, this wine reveals itself seductively with aromas of lemon, green apple and pear, complemented by floral and mineral nuances, as well as a subtle touch of honey. On the palate, it offers a lively and fresh attack, with a well-integrated acidity that underlines the lightness and elegance of the wine. The flavors of white-fleshed fruits and lemon zest are accompanied by a persistent mineral note. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving a pleasant sensation of purity.

Chteau de Rougeon is a member of Les Aligoteurs, and Mi-Filles Mi-Raisins, a group of female growers in Burgundy that includes Amlie Berthaut (Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet) and Tomoko Kuriyama (Chanterves).
Rougeon is special for several reasons. For starters, the vineyards are all contiguous and they are situated at a high altitude (400m) on both granite and limestone. Granite is unusual in Burgundy, until you reach Beaujolais. Rougeon has Aligot planted on it, which, combined with great farming, has made it a source of Aligot grapes for some pretty incredible winemakers in the Cte dOr.
