100+ year-old vines of Carignan from Luberon. Part pressed and part destemmed by hand. The destemmed grapes infused in the juice for 2 months in open-top old wooden fermenters. After fermentation the wine aged for 2 more years in old barrels before bottling. A new wine of Les Valseuses for the 2020 vintage. Potent, dark, and intense. There’s a vibrant hum to the mineral tension in the wine. Heady and intoxicating, the fruit is dark as night with a sharp rocky quality that leaps out. Berries, leather, soy, and iron.
