Pinotage is a relative newcomer to Radford Dale (their first release of this undervalued grape, Frankenstein, came in 2011), yet the varietal has become an important part of what they do. Quite simply, they are looking for purity of fruit and a freshness in their expressions.
This wine is deep purple and with ruby rim. The nose is filled with ripe strawberries and plums with interestingly perfumed rosewater aromas that are indicative of this varietals expression. Notes of wild berry compote and dark forest fruits delight on the medium palate, before grippy tannins bring the wine to a clean, fresh finish.
We recommend pairing with pork chops, steak or any slightly spicy marinated meat.
