The Nekeas Valley lies along the northernmost boundary for growing Tempranillo in Spain. Although the name Tempranillo refers to its early cycle, at Nekeas Estate it is one of the latest varietals to reach its optimum maturation (harvest occurs around mid-October). Nevertheless, this delay in maturation gives the variety a particular character: fine, elegant and fresh. Notes of licorice mingled with blackberries and delicate, smooth tannins. The mouthfeel is fresh and fruit-forward. This wine is very versatile for pairings- we recommend a umami filled ramen, grilled chicken, pizza or burgers.
